The differences between Admin and State API Roles in Aperture and API Follow
The admin dashboard Aperture, Manage Users screen allows account admins to change users' roles to Admin, State (API), and Read-only.
- The Admin Role allows users to manage all aspects of an application via the web UI Aperture and also the JSON API, i.e. domains, SSL/TLS certificates, etc.
- The State API Role is designed for the management of Proxy-State and is constrained to this, it cannot manage domains, certificates, users, etc. Only Proxies such as Varnish. i.e. Clear the Varnish Cache.
- Read-Only Role has no write access.
